Only direct applications will be considered, all third party applications will be politely rejected, however, germane UK
MoD placements will be entertained. Due to the nature of the research and involvement with UK MoD projects all of the
positions within the Company must be UK nationals. ADM Shine Technologies Ltd promotes diversity in employment. We welcome
applications from women and men, regardless of disability, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin or age. Candidates
will undergo Security Clearance prior to appointment and it is a requirement for everyone in the company to maintain their
vetting during their tenure. Given the nature of the work, unfortunately we cannot allow suitably cleared freelance contractors
to work for us - therefore please do not apply, unless it is for a permanent position, as these security requirements
are very unlikely to change.
Rehabilitating
Servicemen and Women will be actively considered across any of our sites. Those leaving the service and considering options and placement can
discuss possible roles with any of our Company directors. Clearly certain specialists, Engineering and Sigs Trades are applicable,
but we welcome all service applications - including those that have left through FMED 18 or P7 MedD etc. We will
soon be welcoming certain specialists, Ghurka and highly capable resources with provable integrity for our guarding and security
work across all of our UK sites.
If you have come to this site page from a recruitment agency, read carefully
the polite notice on the
Careers Page that these will not be accepted and will be rejected and that no liability will be accepted from either applicant and/or
agency. Introductory commissions will not be paid under any circumstance. NOTE: we do not post cross links for these vacancies
on any other site by way of advertising or other commercial relationship other than the IET, NATURE and New Scientist.
Initial interviews and assessments will be done at the main site and if successful it is highly likely an inaugural
period will be undertaken there. Subsequently you will then be transferred to your main place of work at either the Labs,
Ranges or at one of the Remote Sites throughout the UK. Such details will be made available during the interviews and assessments
- each job advert will make it clear where the post will be and will clearly indicate the county.
ADM Shine
Training Ltd will soon be completely set-up and will focus on the academic training, apprenticeships and appropriate product
training on all of our
R&D. At the heart of ADM Shine Training Ltd will be the fieldcraft, dismounted operations and adventure training, along with field
trialling activities - more on this to follow soon....

Job Description
The Engineer/Scientist (RFS/A/RFF-DRD) is a lead
role and would ideally be an individual that has had a career in RF engineering and understands the advanced techniques of
electromagnetism solving {using HFSS, CST MWS, FEKO, plus others} and using the CAD tools of Microwave Office and Advanced
Design System, LabView and MATLAB. The advanced engineering aspects is to have the ability to data drive finite state
machines and updatable adaptive function elements that can within mission parameters learn from sample sets to articulate
better outcomes and more value output say for a given timeframe. This includes the design of software radios and software
controlled RF hardware that covers audio, analogue signal elements through to digital spreadspectrum and frequency hoping
techniques. A good solid understanding of ADC/DAC, PLL, FPGA, DSP, LNA and PA circuits will be core to the role along with
the unusual array of antenna designs for difficult environments. The role will identify spin out licensing options for commercial
capabilities including advanced licensable DSP/FPGA stubs and other RF modules. The role reports to the Capability Manager
for Instrumentation directly and one removed to the COO directly. We operate a modified waterfall engineering model and run
SSADM rapid prototyping methodology embedded in that and along side that. The formal methods of PRINCE2 are soon to be introduced
and you will support the COO in the formulation and ammendements to all SOPs in order to implement that change and transition
effectively. You will mandate and follow our Quality Manual without exception unless you are granted such exception by
the COO.
The role has the repsonsibility for algorithm development and associated stub software and small
APPs for other capabilities. The understanding of the radio architectures and spectrum use will be essential to the role along
with the thorough understanding of radio mesh and other network types in terms of connectivity and authentication. Encoding
methods and techniques to make the connections hardened against interferrence and EW techniques will also be core to the role.
You may need form time to time to meet the defence and law enforcement security community as necessary.

RF Engineering, ADC/DAC, PLL, FPGA, DSP, LNA and PA circuits will be necessary or suitable experience to be able to be promoted
into that level and ideally be a holder of an engineering BSc or MSc or other suitable qualifications that demonstrate
an understanding of engineering and scientific research would be highly desirable. An understanding of software radios and
advanced electromagnetics would equally be highly desirable along with consolidated experience of analysis and algorithm
reasearch using MATLAB.
A good understanding of how large establishments undertake production engineering
and large scale research would be an advantage.
Special Conditions
The
candidate must meet our security approvals standards for this role and maintain such throughout their employment tenure. The
candidate may apply for a discretionary relocation assistance by mutual agreement. It is recognised this is a highly specialist
area and in keeping with our careers approach this role will be grown with the candidate and based on ability and performance
it is likely this role will become STEM-J within the five year expansion plan for the company.
Location
The
choice of location for the role can be at any one of our sites on the condition that, due to the special security requirements, the
individual is able to travel to the team meeting once a month and attend the Head Office / agreed venues for the relevant
project meeting(s). Ideally the individual would be based in the locality of their team or the site with the bulk of the engineering
and scientific staff. The COO would have to authorise the location and would be biased towards operational effectiveness and
co-location.
