Political and Charity Policy...

The Company remains loyal to Crown and Her Majesty's Military and Government, but remains non-political and does not donate to any political party. The Company may from time to time engage with local authorities in order to ensure the safe provision of its site(s) and facilities. This engagement may also be with the duly elected Members of Parliament. If absolutely necessary, this may have to involve the Local Government Ombudsman if all local engagement has been explored without resolve/avail. The Company may need from time to time to engage with Central Government and it will do so appropriately across all levels and departments.

Employees of the Company are naturally free to support, sponsor and engage with, in and only in their own right, any political party [or politically-aligned organisation]. In the unlikely event such was not conducive with maintaining security approvals during their tenure, then the employee may have to apply for a transfer to another role, department or to the commercial side of the Company. Employees wishing to hold political party [or politically-aligned organisation] branch roles are politely asked to seek prior approval, which will not be unreasonably withheld.

Charities germane to the Company's activities such as the Royal British Legion or those listed in the footer of this page, will be supported when the Company finances permit and the Board so chooses to make a donation or multiple donations that it deems is/are appropriate. In keeping with our Armed Forces Covenant we will support these charities and various events in other ways over and above financial - such as with our time, help and access to facilities. In line with fair and ethical practice, the Company will not donate to any charity where any single manager, volunteer, trustee or executive is paid a salary and/or expenses exceeding £40,000 p.a {gross}. The Board has chosen the only exceptions to this policy to be those charities and organisations listed in the footer and those that are served via corporate membership/partnership arrangements and no other.

The Company is researching the potential for a multi-year [three years rolling] membership (again when Company finances permit), with one or more of the charities of The Science Museum, The Imperial War Museum and The Royal Institution.

The Company has registered with a Give As You Earn provider and allows free choice for its employees to use the scheme and to donate through the Company PAYE scheme to those charities supported by that scheme.

The Company is underpinned by a Modus Operandi, Covenant and these nine core policies which are enshrined in our Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management System. They are:
